Proper preperation of a subfloor before installation of resilliant floor coverings is important for their long term life. Australian Standard "AS 1884 Floor coverings - Resilient sheet and tiles - Installation practices" sets out procedures for correct installations which includes moisture testing of the subfloor. American Standard ASTM F2170 covers testing over concrete and Australian Standards AS 1080.1 and AS 2098.1 cover testing timber and plywood/veneeers.
